The UNS N08904 Screw is manufactured from high-quality SS 904L stainless steel, compliant with ANSI/ASTM and DIN standards, and available in a wide range of sizes (5/16 to 4 inches in diameter, 30 to 800 mm in length) to meet diverse industrial needs. With a tensile strength of up to 490 N/mm² and an elongation rate of 35%, it offers exceptional mechanical properties. Renowned for its outstanding resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, the UNS N08904 Screw is particularly suitable for demanding environments such as oil and petrochemical equipment. Whether in highly corrosive media or extreme temperature conditions, the UNS N08904 Screw delivers reliable performance, ensuring long-term stable operation of equipment.
To guarantee the high quality and reliability of the UNS N08904 Screw, each batch undergoes rigorous quality inspections, including chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, and corrosion resistance evaluation.

1. Chemical Composition Analysis
Chemical composition is the foundation of the material properties of the UNS N08904 Screw. We use spectrometers (such as ICP-OES or XRF) to test the composition of each batch, ensuring compliance with ASTM A240 and DIN 1.4539 standards. The typical composition ranges are as follows:
- Nickel (Ni): 23.0% - 28.0%
- Chromium (Cr): 19.0% - 23.0%
- Molybdenum (Mo): 4.0% - 5.0%
- Copper (Cu): 1.0% - 2.0%
- Carbon (C): ≤ 0.02%
- Manganese (Mn): ≤ 2.0%
- Silicon (Si): ≤ 1.0%
- Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.045%
- Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.035%
- Iron (Fe): Balance
The deviation of test results from standard values is controlled within ±0.1%, ensuring the stability and consistency of the UNS N08904 Screw material composition.

2. Mechanical Property Testing
Mechanical properties are critical indicators of the reliability of the UNS N08904 Screw. In accordance with ASTM A240 and DIN EN ISO 6892-1 standards, each batch undergoes the following tests:
2.1 Tensile Strength Test
- Test Method: A universal material testing machine is used to perform tensile tests on UNS N08904 Screw samples until fracture.
- Standard Requirement: Tensile strength ≥ 490 N/mm²
- Test Data: Typical values range between 500 - 600 N/mm², ensuring the UNS N08904 Screw maintains structural integrity under extreme loads.

2.2 Yield Strength Test
- Test Method: The stress value at which the UNS N08904 Screw material begins to undergo plastic deformation is recorded during the tensile process.
- Standard Requirement: Yield strength ≥ 220 N/mm²
- Test Data: Typical values range between 230 - 280 N/mm², ensuring the UNS N08904 Screw does not undergo permanent deformation under normal working conditions.

2.3 Elongation Test
- Test Method: The elongation of the UNS N08904 Screw sample after fracture is measured, and the elongation rate is calculated.
- Standard Requirement: Elongation rate ≥ 35%
- Test Data: Typical values range between 40% - 50%, indicating excellent plasticity and toughness.

2.4 Hardness Test
- Test Method: A Rockwell hardness tester (HRB scale) or Vickers hardness tester (HV) is used to test the UNS N08904 Screw.
- Standard Requirement: Hardness ≤ 90 HRB
- Test Data: Typical values range between 80 - 90 HRB, ensuring resistant to deformation or damage during installation and use.

3. Corrosion Resistance Testing
Corrosion resistance is a core advantage of the UNS N08904 Screw. In accordance with ASTM G48 and ASTM A262 standards, the following corrosion tests are performed:
3.1 Pitting and Crevice Corrosion Test
- Test Method: The UNS N08904 Screw sample is immersed in a 6% FeCl₃ solution (at 50°C) for 24 hours.
- Standard Requirement: No significant pitting or crevice corrosion.
- Test Data: The sample surface remains smooth, with no corrosion pits or cracks, indicating excellent corrosion resistance of the UNS N08904 Screw in high-chloride environments.

3.2 Intergranular Corrosion Test
- Test Method: The sulfuric acid-copper sulfate corrosion test (ASTM A262 Practice E) is conducted, with the UNS N08904 Screw sample immersed in a boiling solution for 24 hours.
- Standard Requirement: No intergranular corrosion tendency.
- Test Data: The sample surface shows no intergranular corrosion cracks, indicating the UNS N08904 Screw maintains excellent corrosion resistance after welding and heat treatment.

3.3 Stress Corrosion Cracking Test
- Test Method: The UNS N08904 Screw sample undergoes a constant load tensile test in a 42% MgCl₂ solution (at 140°C) for 1000 hours.
- Standard Requirement: No stress corrosion cracking.
- Test Data: The sample shows no cracks, indicating the UNS N08904 Screw maintains stable performance under high-temperature and high-stress conditions.

4. Other Inspection Items
- Dimensional Accuracy Inspection: A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and thread gauges are used to ensure the dimensions and thread accuracy of the UNS N08904 Screw comply with ANSI/ASME B18.2.1 and DIN 13 standards.
- Surface Quality Inspection: Visual inspection and surface roughness testers are used to ensure the UNS N08904 Screw surface is free from cracks, scratches, and other defects, with roughness controlled at Ra ≤ 0.8 μm.
- Non-Destructive Testing: Ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT) are used to ensure the UNS N08904 Screw is free from internal defects such as pores and inclusions.
