UNS N04400 Stud Bolt is manufactured using W.Nr.2.4360 Monel alloy, complying with standards such as ANSI, DIN, NF, and BSW. It is available in a size of 1-1/8 inches, with lengths customizable from 30 to 800 mm. With a tensile strength of 480 N/mm² and an elongation rate of 35%, it offers exceptional corrosion resistance, making it suitable for highly corrosive environments such as seawater, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid. It is an ideal choice for industries such as chemical, petroleum, and marine engineering.

The nickel-based alloy UNS N04400 Stud Bolt (Monel 400) is renowned for its outstanding corrosion resistance, particularly in seawater, acids, alkalis, and high-temperature environments.

1. Excellent Corrosion Resistance in Seawater
UNS N04400 Stud Bolt exhibits extremely high corrosion resistance in seawater environments, primarily due to the synergistic effect of its high nickel content and copper. Nickel provides excellent resistance to chloride ion corrosion, while copper enhances the alloy's stability in seawater.

Seawater Corrosion Rate:
At room temperature (25°C), the corrosion rate of UNS N04400 Stud Bolt in seawater is typically below 0.025 mm/year, significantly lower than that of ordinary stainless steel (e.g., 304 stainless steel), which has a corrosion rate of over 0.1 mm/year.

2. Good Resistance to Acid and Alkali Corrosion
UNS N04400 Stud Bolt demonstrates good corrosion resistance in various acidic and alkaline media, especially in non-oxidizing acids and weak alkaline environments.

Acid Resistance
Sulfuric Acid: At room temperature, UNS N04400 Stud Bolt exhibits good corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid with concentrations below 70%, with a corrosion rate below 0.1 mm/year.

Hydrochloric Acid: At room temperature, UNS N04400 Stud Bolt shows a low corrosion rate in hydrochloric acid with concentrations below 15%, but the rate increases significantly with rising temperature and concentration.

Phosphoric Acid: At room temperature, UNS N04400 Stud Bolt demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance in phosphoric acid with concentrations below 85%, with a corrosion rate below 0.05 mm/year.

Alkali Resistance:
UNS N04400 Stud Bolt exhibits high stability in alkaline environments. For example, in sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solutions with concentrations up to 50%, even at high temperatures (100°C), its corrosion rate remains below 0.01 mm/year.

3. Stable Corrosion Resistance at High Temperatures
UNS N04400 Stud Bolt maintains excellent corrosion resistance even in high-temperature environments, making it an ideal material for high-temperature applications.

High-Temperature Oxidation Resistance:
In air at temperatures up to 500°C, the oxidation rate of UNS N04400 Stud Bolt is extremely low, typically below 0.01 mm/year. A dense oxide layer forms on its surface, effectively preventing further oxidation.

High-Temperature Corrosion Resistance:
In high-temperature (300°C - 500°C) sulfur-containing environments, UNS N04400 Stud Bolt demonstrates good resistance to sulfide corrosion. For example, in environments containing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), its corrosion rate is typically below 0.02 mm/year.
