M6-1 X 12 Hex Bolt is manufactured to DIN 933 with a fully rolled thread and 12 mm overall length. Fabricated from duplex stainless steel D2-80, it delivers a tensile strength ≥ 800 MPa and pitting / stress-corrosion resistance well beyond 316L. The natural, uncoated finish allows long-term service in humid, acidic, alkaline or marine environments without additional plating, while the lightweight design cuts equipment weight by more than 15 %. Corrosion resistance is equally impressive: M6-1 X 12 Hex Bolt achieves PREN = Cr + 3.3 Mo + 16 N ≥ 34, far exceeding the ≈ 19 of 304. Neutral salt-spray tests (ISO 9227, 5 % NaCl, 35 °C, continuous spray) show 304 specimens rusting at 48 h and > 5 % coverage at 200 h, whereas M6-1 X 12 Hex Bolt remains spot-free at 500 h and < 1 % rust at 1000 h—corrosion rate reduced by 2.3×. Critical pitting temperature (CPT) in 6 % FeCl₃ solution is ≥ 35 °C, 20 °C higher than 304 (≈ 15 °C). In boiling 40 % MgCl₂ solution, M6-1 X 12 Hex Bolt reaches an SCC threshold ≥ 320 MPa, ten times that of 304.
Anti-galling performance is validated by M6 × 1.0 bolt-nut cycling tests: under dry friction, after four tighten-loosen cycles at 20 N·m preload, threads on M6-1 X 12 Hex Bolt show neither seizure nor material pick-up, and removal torque drops by < 5 %. Thanks to the duplex structure’s high work-hardening exponent n ≈ 0.45 and evenly distributed Cr₂N precipitates, the surface friction coefficient μ falls to 0.11 versus 0.18 for 304, markedly reducing adhesive wear.
