M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt – strictly produced to DIN 976, 1 000 mm full length, austenitic SUS304 stainless steel, resistant to acids, alkalis and high temperatures. Natural finish, no coating, zero risk of hydrogen embrittlement. Can be cut to any length on-site; match with nuts and washers for instant assembly. Ideal for food machinery, medical devices, marine engineering and other demanding applications. Ex-stock, zero-cut, chamfering, batch-number laser marking and other custom services available for lean inventory and efficient assembly.
M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt
Stainless bolts are not “rust-free”; lifetime care is all about blocking the triple attack of chloride ions, metallic dust and moisture. The seven-step protocol below uses M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt as the example; apply it to any size.

1. Before installation
Wipe the threads of M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt with alcohol or a neutral degreaser to remove preservative oil and fingerprints; prevent carbon-steel contamination. Never use chlorine bleach or steel wire brushes—free chlorine can embed in the passive film.

2. During installation
Select M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt of the same electrochemical grade as the parent metal. If permanent contact with zinc-plated steel or aluminium is unavoidable, add EPDM sleeves or nylon washers to break the galvanic circuit. Tightening torque: T = K × D × P with K = 0.20; avoid over-torquing that can initiate inter-granular micro-cracks.

3. Routine inspection
Coastal or chemical zones: every 3 months; inland: every 6 months. Visually check M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt for rust spots, then probe gaps with a 0.05 mm feeler gauge for red-brown dust. Remove immediately if found.

4. Cleaning sequence
   ① Soft brush to remove loose dust from M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt;
   ② Circulate with 1 % neutral detergent in water below 40 °C for 30 s;
   ③ Rinse with de-ionised water (conductivity ≤ 30 µS/cm);
   ④ Apply 30 % nitric-acid passivation paste for 15 min to restore Cr₂O₃ film;
   ⑤ Blow-dry quickly and spray with water-based rust inhibitor above 0 °C; re-install within 24 h.

5. Re-use after removal
If the threads of M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt seize, soak with PTFE + Cu anti-seize compound for 2 h, tap lightly and unscrew. Discard if deformation > 0.1 mm—never re-use.

6. Storage
Keep stock M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt in a closed cabinet at ≤ 50 % RH with silica-gel desiccant; segregate from carbon steel to avoid flying iron chips that initiate pitting. Sample 5 % of each lot every quarter; if any stain appears, re-passivate the entire batch.

7. Upgrade path
In high-temperature/high-chloride environments upgrade M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt to 316L or use MoS₂-coated bolts—service life triples. For load-critical joints, re-check torque decay annually to ensure preload stays within ±5 % of design value.

Follow these seven steps and M4 Stainless Steel 304 Stud Bolt will retain its metallic lustre over the full life cycle, cutting field replacements by more than 40 % while delivering both safety and economy.
