What is the difference between 904L and Duplex 2205?
904L and Duplex 2205 are two types of stainless steel with excellent performance, exhibiting significant differences in microstructure, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance characteristics, and cost. Simply put, 2205 is a duplex stainless steel known for its high strength and is often used in the manufacture of high-strength fasteners such as the Duplex Stainless Steel 2205 Stud Bolt; whereas 904L is a super-austenitic stainless steel, renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance in reducing acid environments.
