1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts are manufactured from high-strength A194 2H material, compliant with ANSI B18.2.2 standards. The hot-dip galvanizing process endows them with exceptional corrosion resistance, making them particularly suitable for outdoor, humid, and corrosive environments. The heavy hex structural design provides a larger load-bearing surface, enabling higher load capacity. These nuts are ideal for applications in steel structures, bridges, power systems, and heavy machinery. Combining high strength with long-term anti-corrosion properties, they significantly reduce maintenance costs, delivering a reliable and durable fastening solution for industrial connections.

Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) is the critical process that ensures the long-term corrosion resistance of A194 2H nuts and 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts. Its core objective is to form a dense, uniform zinc-iron alloy layer on the metal surface, providing dual protection through both physical barriers and electrochemical mechanisms.

1. Pickling
Purpose: Thoroughly remove scale, oil, and rust from the surface of 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts to ensure strong adhesion between the zinc coating and the base metal.
- Pickling solution: 15%-20% hydrochloric acid (HCl) or 10%-15% sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) at 20-30°C.
- Time control: 10-30 minutes (adjusted based on rust severity), with an additional 2-3 minutes for threaded recesses of 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts.

2. Fluxing
Purpose: Form a protective film on 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts to prevent re-oxidation and enhance zinc wettability.
- Process parameters: Immersion at 60-70°C for 1-3 minutes, ensuring complete flux coverage of the thread profile for 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts.

3. Zinc Bath Immersion
Core step: Metallurgical reaction to form a multi-layer zinc-iron alloy coating.
- Zinc bath composition: Pure zinc (≥98.5%), with 0.01% aluminum recommended for optimal thread penetration in 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts.
- Temperature control: Strictly maintained at 445-465°C, with an immersion time of 3.5 minutes for 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts (thread depth compensation factor: 1.2).

4. Coating Quality Inspection Standards
1) Thickness requirements:
- Threaded areas of 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts: ≥55μm (ISO 2178); non-threaded areas: ≥80μm.

2) Salt spray test:
- 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts must pass 1,200 hours of salt spray testing (ASTM B117), exceeding industry standards by 20%.

5. Industry Application Advantages
- 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts achieve a service life of 35 years in offshore platforms, with 40% lower lifecycle costs compared to stainless steel alternatives.
- Pro tip: When purchasing 1/2 Inch Galvanized Nuts, verify coating thickness reports and salt spray test certificates.
