Non-metallic Isolation Gasket is manufactured from Klingersil C4400, a composite of aramid-fibre (Kevlar) reinforcement bonded with nitrile rubber, and is certified to ASME B16.5. Designed specifically for 8-inch, Class 150 piping systems, each set is supplied with G10 insulating sleeves, washers and the ZPS electro-static protection system, guaranteeing zero-leakage isolation even at 400 °C.

What is C4400 and what does it contain?
C4400 is an asbestos-free compressed fibre sheet engineered for Non-metallic Isolation Gasket service. Its main components are aramid fibres (Kevlar) and nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) binder.

Maximum continuous temperature for C4400
At the reference thickness of 2.0 mm, Isolation Gasket made from C4400 can operate at up to 400 °C.

Pressure limit for C4400
At 2.0 mm thickness, Non-metallic Isolation Gasket of C4400 is rated for a maximum working pressure of 100 bar (≈ 10 MPa).

Chemical resistance of C4400
When Isolation Gasket is specified in C4400, it offers broad resistance to water, gases, hydrocarbons, alkalis and medium-strength acids.
Dielectric strength and electrical isolation
Average dielectric strength is 21.6 kV/mm and average surface resistivity is 1.4 × 10¹² Ω, giving Non-metallic Isolation Gasket excellent electrical isolation.

Compression and recovery
For Isolation Gasket in C4400 (2.0 mm): compression 11 %, minimum recovery 55 %.
Dimensional stability at elevated temperature
At 300 °C the thickness of Non-metallic Isolation Gasket decreases by ≈ 20 %; at 23 °C the loss is ≈ 10 %.

Effect of oil exposure
After 5 h in ASTM Oil No. 3 at 150 °C, the thickness of Isolation Gasket increases by ≈ 3 %.

Gas leakage rate
The gas-leakage rate (DIN 3535/6) for Non-metallic Isolation Gasket is 0.2 ml/min.

Thermal conductivity
Thermal conductivity of Non-metallic Isolation Gasket is 0.42 W/m·K.
