Quantity
KLINGERSIL C4400 Insulation Gasket (4"150LB) is an aramid-fibre / NBR composite rated to 400 °C, supplied with a G10 insulating sleeve and ZPS set, ASME B16.5 certified. It delivers long-term sealing plus electrical isolation for high-pressure flanges, installs easily, extends service life by 30 %, and is ideal for severe services in petrochemical, power and marine industries.
What must be watched during installation?
The “Seven-Step” Gasket Procedure – drive leak probability to zero.

1. Shut-down & de-pressurisation
Verify “zero pressure, zero temperature, zero charge”; lock and tag all valves.

2. Surface inspection
Examine flange faces with 30° grazing light plus fingertip feel:
- no radial scratches, burrs or pits > 0.1 mm
- flatness ≤ 0.2 mm / 100 mm
Non-conforming faces must be re-machined or the flange replaced; angle-grinder “patching” is forbidden.
(KLINGERSIL C4400 Insulation Gasket demands extremely smooth sealing surfaces.)

3. Select correct fasteners
Recalculate bolt torque for KLINGERSIL C4400 Insulation Gasket insulation set using the official K-factor 0.15 and friction coefficient 0.12; never copy carbon-steel-gasket torque tables. Coat threads with high-temperature anti-seize free of metallic particles.

4. Dry pre-assembly & positioning
- Slide G10 sleeve onto the bolt; ensure exposed length > two threads above the nut.
- Orient KLINGERSIL C4400 Insulation Gasket “label side out”, centre on the pipe axis; never force. If resistance is high, check for distorted flange register.

5. Criss-cross simultaneous tightening
① 30 % final torque → ② 60 % → ③ 100 % → ④ 100 % re-check
Each increment ≤ 15 N·m; use synchronous wrenches or dual guns working diagonally, keeping scatter ≤ 5 %.
When service temperature > 150 °C, perform a hot re-torque within 4 h of start-up.
(KLINGERSIL C4400 Insulation Gasket must maintain constant gasket stress even at high temperature.)

6. Electrical isolation test
After tightening, measure flange-to-flange resistance with 500 V DC megger; reading must be ≥ 10 MΩ. If lower, disassemble and inspect G10 sleeve / KLINGERSIL C4400 Insulation Gasket for cracks or metallic bridging.

7. Documentation & re-torque
Record torque, resistance and ambient temperature. After three heat-up / cool-down cycles, re-check 100 % torque within 72 h. Photograph and upload to the CMMS to generate a QR-code “gasket ID” for traceability at the next overhaul.
