Compressed Asbestos-free C4400 Gasket

How to select a gasket  ?
Five core elements – think of them as “five inter-locking rings”. Mismatch any one of them and the seal can fail.
 
Element 1 – Fluid and temperature  
This is the starting point; it dictates the material.  
Fluid aggressiveness: verify that the gasket material is compatible. Strong acids, alkalis or solvents attack polymers and fibres in very different ways. The NBR binder in Compressed Asbestos-free C4400 Gasket, for example, resists petroleum-based oils, water and steam, but may not tolerate strongly oxidising acids.  

 
Operating temperature: the material must remain physically and chemically stable. Ordinary rubber gaskets are limited to ~100 °C, whereas Compressed Asbestos-free C4400 Gasket is certified to 400 °C, making it suitable for steam circuits and hot-oil lines.

Element 2 – Pressure rating  
Pressure governs the mechanical strength and blow-out resistance required.

Surface finish: rougher faces need softer, more conformable sheets; smoother faces allow denser materials.

Element 4 – Gasket performance and configuration  
With the first three factors fixed, choose the specific type and performance level.
