Chemical Resistance C4400 Gasket is an 8″–150LB chemically resistant gasket precision-cut from Klingersil C4400 non-asbestos fibre sheet. Its aramid-fibre / nitrile-rubber composite structure withstands strong acids, alkalis and solvents for long periods up to 400 °C. Supplied to ASME B16.5 dimensions, it is delivered as a complete set together with G10 insulating sleeve, insulating washer and ZPS metallic gasket; one installation gives simultaneous electrical insulation and sealing, making it the ideal upgrade for flanged connections in chemical, offshore and oil-and-gas service.

What is Klinger C-4400 gasket material?
Klinger C-4400 gasket material = a three-layer synergy of “aramid-fibre skeleton + nitrile-rubber matrix + special functional fillers”, each layer doing its own job and together giving Chemical Resistance C4400 Gasket the outstanding performance prized by petrochemical, power and food industries.

1. Aramid fibre – the “re-bar”
Only ~25 % by weight, yet it supplies >70 % of tensile strength and impact toughness. The fibres interlock into a 3-D net that “ties” the gasket together under 25 MPa bolt load, preventing blow-out or extrusion; under 320 °C / 2.5 MPa in refinery hot-oil lines the Chemical Resistance C4400 Gasket still shows ≥55 % recovery, the aramid net springing back instantly to compensate and stop weeping.

2. Nitrile rubber (NBR) – the “concrete”
Rubber content ≈30 %, glass-transition temperature −30 °C, remains elastic down to −20 °C. It fills the fibre interstices to create a continuous barrier: swell in ASTM fuel oil B ≤5 %; weight gain in 10 % HCl, saturated brine and alcohols <3 %, perfectly demonstrating the chemical advantage of Chemical Resistance C4400 Gasket. The visco-elastic damping also absorbs pressure pulses from pump and valve cycling, lowering fatigue cracking.

3. Special fillers & additives – the “admixtures”
Graphite / talc raise thermal conductivity, keeping centre-to-edge temperature difference <15 °C and cutting thermal stress; small sulphur carriers and anti-ageants yield a 300 °C×16 h stress-relaxation value of only 25 MPa, better than the 35 MPa of ordinary non-asbestos sheets; 3XA dual-side anti-stick coating drops friction coefficient to 0.15 and reduces disassembly torque by 30 %, no sealant grease needed, avoiding contamination of food-grade lines and further strengthening the all-round performance of Chemical Resistance C4400 Gasket.

Synergy example
At the top of a chemical de-chlorination tower the medium is wet chlorine + hypochlorous acid + steam, 120 °C / 0.8 MPa. Aramid resists wet-chlorine corrosion without cracking, NBR blocks steam permeation, the coating stops the gasket sticking to the titanium flange; after 18 months’ continuous running there is zero leakage, whereas traditional asbestos-rubber sheet delaminated in three months. This case once again confirms the reliable service life of Chemical Resistance C4400 Gasket in harsh chemical environments.
