C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket is manufactured from imported Klingersil C4400 aramid fiber–nitrile rubber composite, ASME B16.5 certified, and fully molded in one piece in the complete 6″–150 LB size. It is supplied as standard with G10 insulating sleeves and ZPS metallic washers, forming an integral electrical isolation barrier. Maximum service temperature is 400 °C, compression-recovery rate >40 %, and it maintains an extremely low leakage rate in seawater, hydrocarbon and chemical environments. Designed specifically for LNG, refinery and offshore flanges, it installs with a single gasket and requires zero maintenance.
How should our insulation gaskets be stored?
General storage rules for C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket: low temperature, low humidity, protection from light, freedom from pressure, and separate classification. Warehouse temperature 5–25 °C, relative humidity ≤60 %, and keep at least 1.5 m away from radiators, boilers and power-cable heat sources. C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket must lie flat on shelves or pallets—hanging or rolling is prohibited. Stack height ≤50 cm; separate each layer with acid-free paper. Never store together with metallic parts, solvents, grease, acids or alkalis. After opening, place unused C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket into a PE bag, seal tightly, and return to the original carton to reduce ozone and UV ageing of the aramid fiber. Rotate stock once every quarter; discard immediately if discoloration, cracking or delamination is observed.

Negative case 1: In 2022 an LNG terminal in East China stacked 200 pcs of 6″–150 LB C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket under an outdoor steel shed. After three months of direct sunlight and rain penetration the gasket edges powdered; the first hydro-test after installation showed 12 leak points, forcing a 4-hour emergency shutdown and a loss of RMB 800,000.
Case 2: A refinery in Northeast China stored surplus C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket together with lube-oil filters. Oil mist settled on the surface, the nitrile rubber softened and swelled, thickness increased from 3.2 mm to 3.7 mm, and recovery rate dropped 55 %. Forty-eight hours after start-up the flange began to weep; disassembly revealed the gasket had been permanently crushed.
Case 3: A shipyard in South China, to save space, wedged C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket upright in a gap between pipes. Six months later heavy objects had deformed the gaskets and scored the metal sleeves. Electrical isolation test at 500 V showed breakdown voltage of only 1.2 kV—far below the 5 kV design value—leading to galvanic corrosion during sea trials. Three hundred flange bolts had to be replaced and the sailing schedule slipped seven days.
Correct practice: On arrival label each batch and record the lot number; issue stock on a first-in, first-out basis. In winter allow gaskets moved from outdoors to a warm shop to stand for 4 h to prevent condensation. During shipment use stretch-wrap plus pallet; never secure with wire rope directly. Treat C4400 Non-metallic Insulation Gasket as carefully as a precision electronic component and, at 400 °C and Class 150, it will still deliver a reliable barrier of zero leakage and zero galvanic corrosion.
